Flamed Piasentina stone
The finish of the Piasentina stone known as “flamed” combines mechanical saw processing and, when necessary, calibration, to a heat treatment made with a heat pipe (fuelled by a mixture of oxygen and other gases), followed by a water-cooling process. The strong heating and sudden cooling of the stone causes the crumbling of the surfaces, which becomes rough and coarse-textured. This type of finish enhances the colour of the product, highlighting its natural features, i.e. the basic grey colour, the brownish-red areas and any calcite streaks.
This finish highly values the Piasentina stone both for internal and external use.
